Hydronic water to air heat pumps are usually known by one manufacturer's trade name, although some half a dozen manufacturers produce this type of equipment. The system provides a convenient way of retrofitting air conditioning into an existing building, requiring only a two-pipe water loop at ambient temperature to provide a heat source or heat sink for individual heat pump terminal units. The system can be energy efficient, particularly in heat recovery mode, when simultaneous heating and cooling are required in different parts of the same building.

Earthcare has a complete range of hydronic heat pumps - the Earthcare Console Series or ECS. The system comprises a number of water source heat pumps interconnected by a two-pipe water loop. Each unit comes complete with galvanised sheet steel casing enclosing the following:

reciprocating or scroll refrigeration compressor;
  copper tube-in-tube coaxial water to refrigerant heat exchanger;
  air to refrigerant heat exchanger comprising copper serpentine tube mechanically bonded to aluminium fins;
  capillary expansion device;
  refrigerant reversing valve;
  twin or single double inlet centrifugal circulating fans, direct coupled to a 3-speed electric motor with sealed-for-life bearings;
  high pressure cut out;
  low water temperature limit thermostat, auto reset defrost thermostat and current overload protection on compressor and fan motor;
  washable/throwaway return air filter;
  quick fit snap connectors for controls;
  electronic controls for connection to inbuilt or remote mounted user control;

Vertical units come complete with sheet metal cabinet or uncased versions suitable for enclosure within an architectural builders work casing. Each unit has inbuilt user controls.

Horizontal units come complete with sheet metal casing and rubber anti-vibration mountings.

Each heat pump is capable of operating independently or in a group of master/slave units.

All prices include 12 months parts and labour warranty and delivery to UK mainland.
